Forensic Psychiatry

A Forensic Psychiatrist deals with various interfaces of mental health (or mental illness) with the law.  It may include psychiatric consultation in a wide variety of legal matters and sometimes with expert testimony. Forensic Psychiatry may also include clinical work with perpetrators and victims. Forensic work with attorneys, courts, or other parties involved in actual or potential litigation (going to court in a civil or criminal matter).

Dr. Askins is a board certified Forensic Psychiatrist as well as a J.D., which provides him the necessary certification and training for expert witnessing on a legal case or providing a qualified consultation concerning any type of psychiatric condition of a person.
